CAN (LET’S) was hired by the manager of Student Affairs of Capilano University to deliver a Disability Awareness workshop. This department oversees mental health and wellbeing, sexual violence, EDI (equity, diversity, inclusion), orientation and engagement for the university.
CAN (LET’S) was asked to cover how they could be more equitable and less ableist in their practices, service delivery, and programming. They were specifically interested in information about neurodivergent people to suppport their many student who identify as such.
The in-person audience was engaged and had a lot of great questions. CAN (LET’S) loves delivering workshops to participants who immediately think about how they can take what they learned and apply it to their daily life.
