Sensory Kits

2024: The Soft Launch of LET’S’ Sensory Kits

Starting in 2023, LET’S provides the service of creating low sensory spaces for events, like Pride events, networking events, and other types of gatherings.

In our work creating and providing low sensory spaces, we recognized the need for more readibly accessible sensory items. We often have people ask where we get our sensory items, how much they cost, how to decide what to buy, and have people ask for further guidances. We decided we would meet this need by launching our new service of selling sensory kits.

What are Sensory Items?

Sensory items are also known as stim toys, fidget toys, and by other terms.

Every person stims. These are repetitive behaviors or movements that help us cope with emotions. It may look like twirling hair, biting nails, tapping your foot, or tapping with a writing utensil.

For some people, including neurodivergent folks, stimming can also help to relax the mind, refocus, ground oneself, and be a release for frustration and restlessness.

People use sensory items as a safe, portable way to address their emotional needs and regulate their emotions.

A note on language: We choose to not use “toys” in our kits to recognize that, for many, these are vital and necessary tools for regulating emotions, dispersing energy, and managing one’s mental health and neurodivergent needs.

Types of Sensory Kits

Currently we have 4 selections:

By amount – for example, a classroom with 25 students, a birthday party with 10 kids, an adult meeting with 15 people, and/or a summer camp with 100 campers

Low sensory space supplies – includes sensory items, books, stuffies, colouring, and more. Please note we also rent low sensory space supplies and/or prepare and host low/reduced sensory spaces.

Random – an assortment of various sensory items. Let us know what your price point is and whether you would like small, medium, or a mix.

Random x amount of people using it – For example, someone may want a random selection but they have 2 kids and don’t want 1 child to have something the other doesn’t. We can provide a random assortment times the amount of people utilizing the sensory items.

We are Excited By This New Project!

We are open to hearing suggestions, adjusting as we move forward, and being responsive to customers. We are excited to continue to ensure people have easier access to meeting their accessibility and emotional needs, wherever they are.
